    The Golden Care Hardwood & Teak Water-Repellent Shield is an invisible wood impregnator which makes it difficult for wine, olive oil, butter, coffee to seep into teak, while keeping the natural look of the surface. NanoSurfaceProtec protects surfaces better by incorporating hydrophobic nanotechnology to prevent moisture from entering the surface, which helps to slow down the influences of the weathering process. It is also suitable for the protection of indoor wooden furniture.

    Golden Care products are water-based and non-greasy. They do not contain hazardous VOCs, helping to provide better outdoor air quality compared to similar traditional care & cleaning products.

    Instructions for Use

    Before using this product, eye protection and rubber gloves should be worn. Cover the ground under your work area before starting.

    New teak: first clean with Golden Care Teak & Hardwood Cleaner & Colour Restorer to remove some of the natural oils (or weather for 2 weeks outside before treatment).

    On dirty dark-grey wood: clean the wood first with Golden Care Teak & Hardwood Cleaner & Colour Restorer. If cleaned wood feels rough, sand lightly before treating with teak shield.

    On patina-grey teak: apply carefully by dabbing (rubbing damages the grey patine).

    Make sure the hardwood is 100% dry and free of dust.

    Shake for at least one minute before use. Apply a thin layer of teak shield with a soft cloth.

    Allow to dry for one hour and then apply a second thin coat of teak shield. Let the wood dry for 48 hours before exposure to moisture and rain.

    It is recommended that you treat your teak furniture with teak shield once a year. Table tops and other horizontal surfaces should be treated more often.
